The sequel would have to be “BIG” says Schafer, with a budget to match.
Double Fine’s founder and boss Tim Schafer has revealed that he’d “love” to make a sequel to Brutal Legend.
The creative force behind Psychonauts and Grim Fandango, as well as the aforementioned metal mash-up, answered questions from fans via Reddit yesterday evening and addressed a question from a user who asked whether loveable Tim would be interested in developing a new entry in the Jack Black-enthused series.
“I would love to make a BL[Brutal Legend] sequel too some day. I’m not sure if I could use Kickstarter for that though. BL2 feels like it really should be a BIG game, like >$20MM, and that’s too big for… wait a second… this sounds familiar,” Mr Schafer explained.
“Hey, this is exactly what I said about Kickstarter the first time. I was surprised then, so you never know!”
That sounds like a challenge to us! Set up the project funding page Double Fine and we’ll contribute!
Obviously this isn’t an announcement or anything like that, but it does at least show that the San Francisco developer has thought about a sequel.
We recommend checking out the IamA thread yourself for more revelations, speculation-inducing responses and indeed, chuckles.
