UPDATE: Xbox Live appears to be back online and functioning correctly.
ORIGINAL STORY: An alleged server outage on Microsoft’s Xbox Live service is stopping players from connecting to the online network.
The outage appeared to hit Xbox Live earlier this morning following reports from users stating that they were being disconnected from the network whenever they attempted to load up a game.
“Connecting fine to the dashboard, but every game I start refuses to connect,” reported one user on video games forum NeoGAF.
Users from across the globe appear to be suffering from the same problem.
Xbox.com also seems to be affected by the outage, with gamerscores appearing to be reset and profile pictures appearing as question marks.
According to a tweet from Activision, the outage “affects all games”.
“We are aware some users are not able to connect to Xbox Live,” read the tweet.
“The outage affects all games. We’ll try to keep you updated if we get any info.”
The Xbox Live Status webpage, however, currently indicates that Xbox Live should be up and running.
