Today CD Projekt has confirmed that the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings has been delayed until Q1 2012.
“The extra time will allow us to polish the title to perfection, so that the game offers an ideally balanced, fantastic experience to gamers,” explained the boss of the Polish developer, Adam Kicinski.
“As the launch of the game approaches, we will be sharing more details how it will be released on Xbox 360. I trust that despite the release date shift, players will be satisfied with what we are planning for them.”
The delay is also in part due to the ongoing legal battle between the console version’s distributor THQ and Namco Bandai who published the PC version.
Seeing as the PC version was only released a few months ago, it’s probably a good idea that The Witcher 2 is going have a couple of more months to mature.
After all, the port of this accomplished title is sure to gain more attention being released at the beginning of next year, rather than competing with the likes of Elder Scroll V: Skyrim at the end of 2011.
