A new job advertisement for EA’s Visceral Games studio has suggested that the team’s upcoming new IP may be a multiplayer-focussed “online action shooter game”.
In the job ad, which can be found on EA’s careers website, Visceral states that it’s looking for “a lead multiplayer designer to help create a thrilling online action shooter game.
“This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a bold new franchise which is a cornerstone for a new EA Games Studio.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of the developer’s intention to create a new IP.
Last March, it was confirmed that the studio was working on a “bold new IP” rumoured to be based around 19th century serial killer Jack the Ripper.
But what does the job ad mean by “new EA Games Studio”?
Visceral Games, previously known as EA Redwood Shores, has been about since 1998. Is EA about to announce a new studio?
Visceral Games has previously developed action hack ‘n’ slash Dante’s Inferno and third-person shooter/survival horrors Dead Space 1 & 2. In addition to the new IP, the studio is also rumoured to be developing a third Dead Space game and a follow-up to 2010 shooter Army of Two: The 40th Day.
