Ubisoft’s French development studio Ubisoft Annecy is developing Assassin’s Creed III’s multiplayer component, according to the Twitter profile of one of the game’s designers.
The Twitter profile of Tim Browne, who joined Ubisoft Annecy earlier this year, reveals that he’s the “Lead Game Designer on Assassin’s Creed 3 Multiplayer @Ubisoft - Annecy”.
Ubisoft Annecy previously developed the multiplayer mode for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood and contributed to last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
The studio also created the multiplayer mode for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.
Ubisoft has typically used multiple studios to develop Assassin’s Creed titles, with Assassin’s Creed: Revelations being co-developed by six Ubisoft studios.
However, for Assassin’s Creed III, the publisher has only officially named Ubisoft Montreal’s involvement with the title so far.
Browne previously worked as a Principal and Senior Game Designer at Codemasters, where he worked on last year’s Operation Flashpoint: Red River.
Assassin’s Creed III is due for release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on October 31st. Expect more info on the title soon.
