Infinity Ward has revealed that Modern Warfare 2′s Spec Ops mode is to be brought back into Modern Warfare 3 "in a very, very big way", suggesting we’ll see an even greater emphasis on the fantastic two-player co-op mode.
"The single-player is just one aspect of a much, much larger experience in Modern Warfare 3," said Bowling following a demonstration of one of Modern Warfare 3′s mission at a press conference earlier this week.
"Single-player is great for those cinematic moments, but we have Spec Ops for that two-player co-op that we’re bringing back into Modern Warfare 3 in a very, very big way, and we’ll have of course multiplayer which is just a beast in itself."
Could we see a greater number of Spec Ops missions in MW3, or Spec Ops DLC?
Spec Ops was first introduced in 2009′s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The mode let two players work together in short missions separate from the game’s campaign.
But despite being a hit with fans, the mode was absent from last year’s Call of Duty, Call of Duty: Black Ops. Instead, developer Treyarch decided to revisit their popular Zombies mode.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on November 8th, 2011.
