Sniper Elite V2 will launch in the UK on May 4th, 505 Games has confirmed.
The sniping sim, which is pencilled in for release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, follows the role of an allied sniper sent on a mission to eliminate Nazi rocket scientists. Like the original, it promises to be one of the most technically advanced shooters on the market.
The original Sniper Elite shot to fame when it launched on Xbox and PC in 2005. The game used advanced physics to accurately calculate bullet drop and horizontal drag over long distances, making it one of the most advanced shooters of its time.
Earlier this week, developer Rebellion said that it believed the market “is ready” to return to WWII, bucking the recent trend of modern-day shooters.
Interestingly, the firm also added that it was “sure” the world would see another WWII Call of Duty “at some point”.
