Speaking on Twitter, the developer appeared to agree with a commenter who said that they were “having a hard time figuring out why this game is getting such bad reviews”.
“Us too,” replied Slant Six. “We’re listening to the players though and they seem to like it and that is the most important thing.”
“We’re pumped on all the great feedback from players,” said the developer to another commenter. “Thanks for sharing with us”.
Slant Six appears to have been on damage control since reviews of the game hit yesterday, retweeting positive comments and interacting with fans enjoying the game.
The game currently has a Metacritic score of 54 and 49 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 respectively, with critics condemning it for its “buggy AI”, “complete lack of atmosphere” and “terrible glitches”. One reviewer called the game “defective in ways I’ve never seen before”.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City launches in the UK this Friday on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A PC version is due for release in May.
