This morning a brand new game titled Binary Domain has been announced by SEGA.
The futuristic shooter is being spearheaded by Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi and involves massive battles between man and machine in 2080′s Tokyo.
"What I wanted to create this time was a dramatic and energetic sci-fi shooter. When you hear sci-fi you may think of cold, clinical environments but with Binary Domain I wanted to combine this with a deep human drama," revealed Toshihiro Nagoshi.
"The keyword we have in mind for this project is "Life". I wanted to make something that will be accepted by both the Japanese and Western markets and this fundamental theme is something everyone knows, but which the full extent of can be difficult to grasp."
Binary Domain will feature an innovative AI system and involve adult themes of identity and the conundrums of human existence.
Development seems to be quite far along, as a lengthy trailer and a series of screenshots have been released.
Unfortunately there’s no release date as of yet, but Binary Domain is confirmed to be a console exclusive and will appear on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
