A sequel to last year’s top side-scrolling platformer Rayman Origins could have been inadvertently revealed via an online marketing survey.
According to the survey (via Kotaku), Rayman Origins 2 “will feature brand new settings: legendary worlds filled with castles, vampires, ghosts, Greek Gods, or dragons,” and retain “all features already in Rayman Origins”, including the original’s four-player drop-in/drop-out co-op and a “long & intense campaign”.
Screenshots of the game, reportedly taken from a video included with the survey, can be seen below.
If real, it seems as if the original game’s vibrant colour palette could have been dialled down a notch for the sequel. A shame, we reckon.
Despite launching to critical fanfare last November, Rayman Origins struggled to find its feet amongst the UK market, failing to break into the Top 40 on its launch week.
But despite slow sales, Ubisoft later said that the game “has the capacity to become a long-term seller for the company.” A 3DS version is due for release later in the year.
Ubisoft has yet to announce a sequel, but could Rayman Origins 2 be due for an E3 reveal? We wouldn’t bet against it.
