Game designer Peter Molyneux is to receive a BAFTA Fellowship at the 2011 GAME British Academy Awards next month.
We know Molyneux today for his work on the highly-popular Fable series but we shouldn’t forget his work at Bullfrog Productions working on the likes of Populous, Theme Park and Dungeon Keeper.
He went on to found Lionhead Studios where in addition to Fable, he also worked on the Black & White games.
Peter spoke on the new of his Fellowship saying:
"I remember back in 1967 watching the first BAFTA awards on television with my family and seeing them being so excited about those accolades. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think it would be possible for me to accept one of the greatest honours the entertainment industry has to offer."
"My first thought on learning that I was awarded an Academy Fellowship was that to be in the company of some of the greatest talents the entertainment industry has ever seen is truly humbling and secondly that this an award not just for myself, but for all the people I’ve ever worked with".
The GAME British Academy Video Games Awards is set to take place on March 16.
Company of Heroes 2, Batman: Arkham Origins, Grand Theft Auto V, Watch_Dogs, Beyond: Two Souls and Night of the Rabbit previews.
