Like both Sony and Nintendo, Microsoft has launched their own incentive scheme for Xbox Live, where gamers can earn MS points back when buying games, films and renewing subscriptions via the digital service.
The Xbox Live Rewards program was first unveiled last year and now UK and US gamers can reap the benefits, by visiting the scheme’s website linked on the right.
The official chart shown below explains everything most gamers will need to know, but the idea is that when buying certain items from the digital store purchasers will receive some MS points back.
For instance if you renew your 12 months Gold subscription to Xbox Live, you’ll receive 100 points back or if you activate Sky TV you’ll receive a similar bonus.
Whether this new loyalty system will pay dividends for Microsoft remains to be seen, but any money back has to be viewed as a minor win for gamers.
