No demo for Max Payne 3, Max Payne Mobile hitting iOS this weekHoping to try out Rockstar’s latest super shooter prior to its release next month? Well, you’re out of luck.

Rockstar has said that it has “no plans” to release a demo for Max Payne 3.

The news shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. None of Rockstar’s previous releases, which include last year’s L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV, have ever received a playable demo.

Max Payne 3 continues the story of the ex-DEA agent who finds himself taking on a job to protect a wealthy Brazilian businessman. The job goes awry, of course, and Max sets out to rescue the man’s wife and unravel the conspiracy behind the abduction.

Rockstar also announced this morning that Max Payne Mobile, an ‘HD’ rerelease of the original Max Payne, will be available for iOS devices from this Thursday, April 12th.

According to Rockstar, the game “has been optimized for both iOS and Android devices and features HD graphics, high-resolution textures, Social Club connectivity and user-customizable controls.” You’ll need at least an iPhone 3GS to run it, and it will also include support for the new retina-display iPad.

A price for Max Payne Mobile is still to be announced.

The game will also be available to buy on Android two weeks later on April 26th.

Max Payne 3 launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on May 18th.
