Warner Bros Interactive have teamed up with Kadokawa Games to publish Grasshopper Manufacture’s Lollipop Chainsaw in 2012.
Lollipop Chainsaw is the latest title from punk designer Goichi Suda (Suda 51) whose works include Killer 7, No More Heroes, and more recently Shadows of the Damned.
Damned composer and Silent Hill veteran, Akira Yamoaka will contribute music to Lollipop Chainsaw.
Warner has pulled in Hollywood director/writer, James Gunn (Super, Slither, Dawn of the Dead, Tromeo and Juliet) who will bring his unique ‘cult humour and edgey storytelling’ to Lollipop Chainsaw.
“Our exciting partnership with Kadokawa Games allows us to try something new by bringing a very unique game like Lollipop Chainsaw to Western markets,” said Martin Tremblay, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
“Grasshopper Manufacture’s games have shown tremendous success with gamers around the globe and we are delighted to expand our portfolio of Japanese-developed games.”
Lollipop Chainsaw follows the tale of zombie hunter Juliet Starling who sets out to uncover the root of all these undead whilst slicing through hordes of flesh-eating monsters with her chainsaw.
Lollipop Chainsaw will launch worldwide in 2012 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
