Microsoft says its line-up of software for fast-selling motion tech Kinect will "triple by the end of the year."
This comment follows new that Microsoft celebrated a successful month for Xbox 360, selling 297,000 systems during April in the U.S.
In a press release released last night, Microsoft said it plans to triple Kinect’s current games line-up:
"In anticipation of another record year in 2011, Microsoft announced the size of the Kinect games portfolio will triple by the end of the year."
However, in response to media questioning, product manager, David Dennis told Joystiq that the software line-up would triple before the end of the year.
"We’ve seen some of the media start to ask the question, ‘When are we going to see more Kinect games coming?’," said Dennis.
"As we sat there and looked at it we realized we’ve got a lot of games coming and we’re going to show a lot of them at E3."
Best-selling Kinect titles include Rare’s Kinect Sports selling 3 million copies worldwide and Dance Central selling 2.5 million worldwide.
Expect to see plenty of Kinect announcements at E3 next month.
