Kinect sells 10 million

Microsoft has announced its Sensor has sold over 10 million units worldwide.

The gadget went on sale last November and become a must-have Christmas gift from many gamers.

Microsoft also confirmed that over 10 million standalone Kinect titles have been sold since launch.

According to Guinness World Record information, Kinect is the fastest selling consumer electronics device selling an average of 133,333 per day in opts opening 60 days.

"The sales figures here speak for themselves," said Gaz Deaves, Gaming Editor for Guinness World Records. "According to independent research, no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, which is an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector."

Microsoft is keen to remind gamers that there’s more reason to Kinect this year with Avatar Kinect launching this Spring and titles such as Michael Jackson The Experience, Child of Eden, The Gunstringer, Kung Fu Panda 2, Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do and Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster all heading to the platform this year.
