Kinect is unlikely to be bombarded with peripherals and accessories so says Microsoft UK & Ireland’s Xbox manager Neil Thompson.
Speaking in an interview with GameIndustry.biz, Thompson assured Kinect buyers that the idea of the Motion camera is that all you need is you.
When asked if any peripherals were coming to Kinect in the future, Thompson said:
"Well, one, not that I know of and two, not that I can think of at this moment. A lot of the idea of Kinect is that you just need you."
Nintendo and Sony’s motion controllers have both seen various peripherals including gun attachments and more but Thompson seemed to think that would go against the principle of Kinect:
"If you think about what the principle of what Kinect is,it kind of takes most accessories and unneeded peripherals away from that interactive experience."
Kinect launched across Europe in November and has sold over 2.5 million units worldwide.
