Kaos Studios has confirmed that a title update for the Xbox 360 version of Homefront will be rolling out today, fixing the ‘Gamertag Freeze’ bug many users have been experiencing.
"An update for the X360 Profile "Freeze" has passed Certification & will be available for download within the next 24 hours on Xbox Live!" tweeted Kaos’ community manager Jeremy Greiner last night.
The bug, which judging by the official Homefront forums affected a significant number of players, prevented the game from booting while signed into your Xbox Live Gamertag. The game would crash at the Kaos Studios splash screen that appears just prior to Homefront’s title screen, rendering the game unplayable.
We’ve just downloaded the update which seems to have fixed the issue for us. If the update is not yet available in your area, expect it to hit at some point later today.
Many users were understandably angry about the game-breaking bug, with some users on the game’s official forum calling the situation a "disgrace". Another said "I wish id never bought this game" and that he "most CERTAINLY will think twice about buying another THQ game."
But there are still unfixed problems, and according to Kaos a second title update is also in the pipe. It’ll supposedly fix issues associated with multiplayer freezing and experience resets.
Homefront released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on March 11th. Some of you might actually be able to play it now.
There's nothing unlucky about this issue which stars interviews, previews and features associated with Alien: Isolation, Titanfall, The Elder Scrolls Online and more.Download Now!
