GAME will reactivate its gift card service this weekend, the retailer has confirmed.
This means that you’ll be able to spend any credit remaining on a GAME/Gamestation gift card in-store this weekend.
“While our loyalty scheme and gift cards were suspended by the administrator during the period of administration last week, now that the business is under new ownership they are being reinstated in full this weekend,” GAME told MCV.
“Customers will be able to use them as normal. We’re also working hard to restock our stores, and there will be a much bigger range of products for customers to choose from in the next couple of weeks.”
Reward card functionality has also been restored.
The news will come as a relief to many gamers. One user posted on GAME’s Facebook page that he still had almost £200 worth of GAME credit at the time they entered administration.
The suspension of GAME’s gift card service reportedly prompted multiple disturbances in stores across the country, with many customers unhappy with the news that they were unable to spend any leftover credit.
GAME entered administration earlier in the month. The retailer was bought out by OpCapita on Sunday.
