Zombie slayer and Willamette Mall shopper Frank West was original set to appear in the upcoming Marvel vs Capcom 3: The Fate of Two Worlds.
Confirming this news to Videogamer.com, the game’s Producer Ryota Niitsuma said that Frank was cut from the game at a late stage of developement.
"As for Frank West, he was actually in the process quite deep, and in one of our high quality CG trailers he was actually part of it," Niitsuma explained. "But we’ve taken him out, due to the fact that we’ve foreseen some extra work involved, just from the nature of his moves. We felt we could direct our resources to better use, so we’ve taken Frank out."
Frank West last appeared in 2010′s digital epilogue Dead Rising 2: Case West.
His fighting career also saw him make an appearance in the Wii-exclusive brawler Tatsunoko vs Capcom.
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 18.
