North America’s official ratings board, the ESRB, has classified Soulcalibur V before its launch next month and the summary is perhaps best described as titillating.
“This is a fighting game in which players engage in one-on-one combat against a large cast of human and supernatural characters. Players use guns, swords, spears, and other melee weapons to strike opponents and drain their health meters,” states the opening sentence of the rating’s summary.
Don’t worry it gets better!
“The frenetic battles are highlighted by slashing sounds, impact effects, and frequent cries of pain. Cutscenes depict additional acts of violence, such as characters getting impaled with swords. Some female fighters wear outfits that reveal large amounts of jiggling cleavage and portions of their buttocks; on the character creation menu, players can augment fighters’ breast sizes and manipulate the camera to zoom in on their bodies.”
Ludicrous amounts of cleavage has become a reliable staple of Japanese-made beat-em-ups with Team Ninja in particular known for their ‘exaggeration’ of the female form, but it seems Project Soul are going a step further with their series.
This isn’t terribly surprising, after all they gave the world the ridiculously proportioned Ivy Valentine, who manages to successfully fight in an outfit which resembles two pieces of dental floss taped together.
Soulcalibur V will be released in Europe for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on February 3rd.
Don’t expect Daily Mail readers to champion its myriad of charms. Readers of The Sun on the other hand…
