Do you remember a while back when we reported that Crytek were working on porting the original Crysis onto Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Well, overnight that rumour has been confirmed by a glossy trailer appearing on GameTrailers.
For the moment it’s unclear whether the title will be a boxed retail release or a downloadable effort, but the release date has been confirmed for October.
The console release, which comes four year’s about Crysis appeared on PC, will feature new lightning effects, optimised visuals and the same emergent gameplay which made the shooter such a hit in 2007.
Better late than never…
Update: EA has now confirmed the price and delivery mechanism for the console version of Crysis. The downloadable release will be sold on Xbox Live for 1600 MS Points and PlayStation 3 owners will be available to snap it up via PSN for £15.99/$19.99.
The ‘remastered’ release will only include Crysis’ campaign and won’t include the game’s story-driven expansion ‘Warhead.’
