Criterion Games may be about to lift the lid on its next game, according to a tweet by the studio’s Creative Director Craig Sullivan.
Posting on Twitter last Friday, Sullivan said that the team had “lots to share over the coming months”, adding that the announcements were “going to be BIG”.
The studio is rumoured to be working on a follow-up to 2010′s BAFTA-winning Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit following a series of job advertisements posted earlier in the year.
In them, the job ads revealed that the team was working on a game featuring “intense car action sequences, terrifying jumps, insane crashes and epic car chases”.
A more “cinematic” experience is also expected, with Criterion said to be creating some “entertaining, compelling in-game cinematic action sequences”.
If it were to happen over the coming months, the timing of the reveal would make perfect sense for a new Need For Speed title.
Need For Speed games are typically announced in the months between March and June. This year’s version is still to be officially revealed.
