‘Kill with skill’ shooter Bulletstorm didn’t make money according to Epic Games’ president Mike Capps.
Speaking with Kotaku, Capps confirmed the vulgar FPS developed by People Can Fly had underperformed and that it “didn’t make money for [Epic Games].”
However, Capps says he doesn’t regret the decision to approve the project saying that if Epic hadn’t given People Can Fly the green-light on Bulletstorm, the Polish developer would have been working on Gears of War content.
“The studio has shipped AAA content,” he said. “The next thing we do with People Can Fly will be great.”
Bulletstorm launched in February on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC to a mixed reaction with some praising the game’s creative methods of slaughter. Early buyers were given priority access to the Gears of War 3 beta which took place between April and May.
