According to Dragon Age’s Executive Producer Mark Darrah, BioWare had secretly been working on an expansion pack to Dragon Age II called ‘Exalted March’.
“There were even shirts!” added Darrah on Twitter.
But according to Darrah, work on the project had to stop due to “other DA opportunities”.
Presumably, he’s referring to the unannounced Dragon Age III.
Darrah did confirm that a new Dragon Age title was in the works, though, saying that BioWare will be “very actively looking for feedback on the next DA title, and will be showing the game more than before as it develops”.
“We’re done development on Dragon Age II, and the team has fully moved onto The Next Thing(tm),” he said.
“On behalf of the entire team, we are incredibly eager to reach the moment when we can tell you more and show you where we are taking Dragon Age.”
Dragon Age II launched in March 2011 and was panned by critics and consumers alike.
Darrah agreed that DAII was “not perfect”, and also revealed that EA had “no current plans” to release an Ultimate Edition of DAII, as it did with the original Dragon Age Origins.
