EA has confirmed that upwards of 10 million units of blockbuster first-person shooter Battlefield 3 have been shipped since launching in the U.S. earlier this week.
This news comes just hours before the game goes on sale in the UK and Europe where fans are already queueing up outside GAME and gamestation stores across the country for midnight launch events.
Pre-sales of the game were around the 3 million mark before the U.S. release on Tuesday.
EA CEO John Riccitiello confirmed the 10 million unit shipments with COO Peter Moore adding that it was the biggest launch day ship title EA has had.
