The hi-res texture pack included with the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3 will take up 1.5GB of your Xbox 360 hard drive, if an image posted by someone who has received the game early is to be believed.
The image, posted by GameFAQs user stix2k7 earlier today, reveals that 1.5GB is required for Battlefield 3′s “HD Content”, with the day one title update taking up another 167MB.
A simple check of stix’s gamertag reveals that he does actually have Battlefield 3.
GamerZines revealed that the Xbox 360 version of Battlefield 3 would ship with an optionally installable hi-res texture pack earlier this month.
Executive Producer Patrick Bach then explained the technology behind the pack in a chat with us earlier this week.
Installing the content lets the game stream higher resolution textures, something that Bach says allows for a “more detailed, varied and vivid experience”.
The PS3 version also includes the high-resolution textures on its Blu-ray disc, which will be installed during the game’s mandatory installation. You’ll need 2GB of HDD space for that.
Battlefield 3 launches next Friday, October 28th on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
