Stargate Atlantis star Joe Flanigan has inadvertently confirmed that Army of Four is in development.
Speaking on Twitter, Flanigan, who played the role of Lt. Colonel John Sheppard (no, not that John Shepard) in the sci-fi TV show, confirmed that he would be providing voice work for “AO4″.
“Just signed on to do the new AO4 video game for Electronic Arts,” he said.
“Some splinter from Battlefield. Finally, my kids think I am cool again.”
Not that cool, though, Joe. As Flanigan later admitted, he got the two game series “mixed up”.
“Thankgod my kids don’t read twitter,” he added.
Army of Four has long been rumoured to be in development at Visceral Montreal, with whispers claiming that the game was being developed using DICE’s Frostbite 2 engine.
The name, of course, suggests that the title will take advantage of four-player co-op, rather than the two-player co-op the previous games offered.
The most recent game in the series, Army of Two: The 40th Day, launched in January 2010.
EA has yet to officially announce Army of Four.
