A job advertisement listed on Gamasutra suggests that Gearbox Software has outsourced the level design of Aliens: Colonial Marines to Section 8: Prejudice developer TimeGate Studios.
According to the listing, TimeGate “is looking to expand its team of ultimate badasses working on Aliens: Colonial Marines,” with the company searching for people to work on the game’s level design and user interface specifically.
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has hinted previously at TimeGate’s connection with Aliens: Colonial Marines, but stopped short of saying exactly how the team has been involved.
Back in June, Pitchford told GameSpot that he had found some “development partners” for Colonial Marines who had “brought some incredible ideas to the table, including TimeGate Studios”.
TimeGate Studios has previously developed both games in the multiplayer-focussed FPS series Section 8, as well as F.E.A.R. expansion packs Perseus Mandate and Extraction Point.
Aliens: Colonial Marines launches next spring on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. A Wii U version is also in development.
