Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that Alan Wake is set to make a return but not in the way we’re expecting.
A sequel to 2010′s spooky adventure was hinted at yesterday when an animator’s CV revealed work on an ‘Alan Wake 2′ cinematic.
Speaking with Eurogamer, head of franchise development at Remedy, Oskari Hakkinen said: "Fans of the franchise will be excited to learn that yes, more Wake is coming! But to be absolutely certain to avoid confusion, this next Wake instalment will not be Alan Wake 2. And neither will it be DLC," Remedy’s head of franchise development Oskari Hakkinen told Eurogamer.
Hakkinen added: "It’s something that’ll definitely give more to the Wake fans out there, but just as importantly, this instalment will also give an opportunity for players who aren’t familiar with the franchise to finally jump on board."
Remedy also suggested that a fall 2012 release is "probably a good guess" but also said that platforms for this venture are unconfirmed at this time.
Could we be in store for more Alan Wake at E3?
