Gears prequel lined up?
Update: Epic has since confirmed Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly’s involvement in this teased Gears of War game.
Original Story: A new title in the Gears of War franchise will be revealed at Microsoft’s E3 conference next week.
Game Informer broke the news when it announced the cover of its next issue although the publication said the first official details were being saved for Microsoft’s E3 showing on Monday June 4th.
Judging from the cover image, the game could be a prequel that tells the story of how the game’s star Marcus Fenix ended up in prison prior to the existing Gears of War games.
It is rumoured that Bulletstorm developer People Can Fly was working on a Gears title although series’ creator Cliff Bleszinski recently revealed that a game known as Gears of War: Exile was scrapped.
