“I’ve been a fan of it, but I don’t think it has been fully realised,” says Cliff.
Upcoming prequel Gears of War: Judgement will not support Microsoft’s Kinect sensor, series creator Cliff Bleszinski has confirmed.
Despite expressing some interest in the motion control device, Bleszinski added that he is curious to see how core games will “work out” while announcing Epic and Judgement developer People Can Fly will not be utilising Kinect for the next entry in the Gears franchise.
“There are not a lot of things that wound up in there,” said Bleszinski speaking to GamesTM.
“There’s one thing actually that you just reminded me of though, is that we are not supporting Kinect in Gears Judgment. I like Kinect, I’ve been a fan of it, but I don’t think it has been fully realised as far as the potential of the device. Dance Central 3 looks great and all, but I’m curious how the ‘core’ games will work out…”
During the development of Gears of War: Exile, it was rumoured the game would make use of Kinect. Cliff Bleszinski confirmed the Exile project had been scrapped.
Gears of War: Judgement is due to launch on Xbox 360 in 2013.
