A mixed bag of financial results from Microsoft, which topped its Xbox 360 shipment for the previous year (11.2 million consoles compared to 8.7 million) but whose revenue took a hit, with 360 and PC monies dropping by a hefty $161 million. At just three percent, it's a drop in the ocean compared to some strugglers, but still not an insignificant amount of money.
Console sales and income from Xbox Live Arcade was up, though, which will give the format-holder confidence that it can struggle through these difficult economic waters.
Microsoft has attributed the drop to the price cuts to 360 hardware. We don't have any nautical puns for that news, though. Sorry.
