After the commercial success and critical acclaim of The Beatles Rock Band it doesn't come as too much of a surprise to discover that U2 have held talks with Harmonix. That could change. I love the idea that that's where people are getting music, and we'd love to be in that world. We'll figure something out. What The Beatles have done, where the animation is much more representative of them, is what we're interested in, rather than the one-size-fits-all animation. We didn't want to be caricatured."

The Beatles Rock Band sold over 700 000 units within its first week of sales and was lauded as "the second revolution" by none other than Yoko Ono . She explained that "In the beginning The Beatles made a splash with their music; with the video game we're going to create a planet of music and art. Music and art are both very interesting healing vibrations, and with that vibration we can create the world we've always wanted, a world of peace."

Nice. But, after Bono's video appearance at the Tory conference yesterday you have to wonder at U2's hopes for healing vibrations and world peace.
