Microsoft have announced that a new version of the wireless adaptor will soon go on sale in the US. Sporting a brand new look the dual-antenna apparatus supports 802.11a/b/g and the much faster network technology of 802.11n.
Retailing at $99.99, which is $20 dollars more than the existing model, we hope that it will be a reasonable price when it hits the UK. Usually Microsoft announce new accessories for the US and then announce when they will hit European shores at a later date.
We have yet to learn if the future model will be more stable than it's current day counterpart, but as always the performance of the wireless adaptor says more about your network than the actual hardware.
If nothing else the redesigned adaptor certainly looks a lot nicer and surely with the extra antenna gamers should expect a better all round performance. This new version of the wireless adaptor will go on sale this week, conveniently enough before Christmas.
We really hope Santa is able to get us a region free one...
