After Xbox chief Aaron Greenberg confirmed that "from a technical standpoint, we are fully 3D capable" at CES this year, he has confirmed that the company would rather focus on the here and now than push the vastly expensive tech.
Speaking to G4TV, he explained "I think right now we're unsure what level of interest there is from consumers to really want a 3D experience in the living room. Many, many years from now when it becomes a reality we absolutely can support it."
"When I play games or watch TV, I've got my phone, I've got all kinds of things going on... I'm not in a dark theater, wearing glasses... I think it's just a different environment."
This sentiment backs up the companies focus on core titles and Project Natal at CES this year, but may come as a surprise given the PS3's firmware update that supports the new 3D technologies.
