Last week Ubisoft teased on their Twitter feed that gamers will hear a "big" announcement for "a thrilling new project" in the future. Well that announcement was supposed to occur today via Xbox Live, but at time of writing it's still not up.
Not to worry though as thankfully the PR machine was working overtime to cover the mistake and an announcement regarding Ubisoft's big reveal was released in due course. Many gamers were expecting something new from the Tom Clancy universe and the French mega publisher didn't disappoint.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be released worldwide during a tentative Holiday 2010 release window. The same development team which worked on the original Ghost Recon and its sequel will return for the third chapter in the series which oddly doesn't sport the number three.
Ubisoft will also give players a chance to play the beta this summer on Xbox Live, as long as they purchase a copy of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction on 360 which is released on April 16th.
From what we've seen the latest Sam Fisher adventure doesn't need an added value pack-in but this will be a nice addition to what's shaping up to be a stellar game.
Unfortunately there was no mention of what other platforms the next Ghost Recon will appear on, but a representative from Ubisoft told GamerZines that the company "isn't communicating the formats just yet" and that platforms will be announced in the "coming months."
Whether this title will make an appearance on the PS3 remains to be seen.
