It's set in SPACE and it's about making people DEAD, so who better to soundtrack forthcoming online FPS Section 8 than Dead Space scorer Jason Graves? No-one, that's who.

Section 8 - award-winning soundtrack imminent?The BAFTA award-winner has composed a score featuring "vintage synth and guitar elements blended with orchestra" for the sci-fi shooter. "Section 8 was a great opportunity to combine my three musical passions: orchestra, electronics/synths and guitars," enthuses Graves. "It was so much fun playing guitar and tweaking my analog synths. I treated them as additional members of the orchestra, sometimes taking the spotlight and other times adding textural background."

Section 8 - award-winning soundtrack imminent?Graves received an "Outstanding Achievement in Audio" award for his work on EA's survival horror Dead Space, as well as a GANG award for "Audio of the Year" for the same game. Whether his work on Section 8 will be recognised in a similar way remains to be seen, but SouthPeak will no doubt be pleased that this experienced composer has crafted an atmospheric soundtrack for one of its biggest games of the year.
