As expected, today's news from Bioware refers to a new piece of DLC for Dragon Age: Origins. Titled Return to Ostagar, it will be available this "holiday" so there's no release date yet. We had previously been given hints that new DLC would be available within a couple of weeks, so early December is not out of the question.

Return to Ostagar
Bioware's DLC for Dragon Age will take you back to the battlefield at Ostagar.
It will be available on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, and it is, as expected, paid for. The cost is £3.99 on PS3, 400 Bioware points on PC (£3.40) and 400 MS Points on Xbox 360.

You will be able to "discover King Cailan's top-secret political agenda" and as importantly find his armour.

It also offers a second opportunity to add Dog to your party, should you so desire.

Apparently, a survivor from the battle can be found by going to Bann Loren's Lands along the Bannorn's northwest border at any point after the destruction of Lothering in the main story. The survivor is looking for help from the Grey Wardens. It's not clear whether you need to find this person in order to get sent back to Ostagar and access the content, but this seems likely.

There's no details as to the expected play time for the DLC or if it increases level cap, and although it "offers new experiences and further enriches a storyline" according to Ray Muzyka, Co-founder of Bioware, it doesn't sound as if it will add new abilities or gameplay.
