Datel faces the wrath of Microsoft over Xbox 360 controller
Microsoft goes after U.K. peripheral manufactuer

U.K. peripeheral manufacturer, Datel, has landed itself in hot water with Microsoft following allegations that it has copied the design of the Xbox 360 controller.
The U.S. arm of Microsoft is sueing the U.K. company in relation to the "TurboFire" and "WildFire" wirelss controllers, claiming that the technological design of the products infringes on its patent.
"We have filed a complaint in the U.S. against Datel, alleging that its products violate our design registrations for Xbox controllers," Microsoft spokesman Kevin Kutz said in a statement. "We have a robust licensing program that ensures high standards and contributes to a great experience for the Xbox gamer community. We have a responsibility to protect that program and the companies that are part of it, as well as our own intellectual property."
These two companies have quite a history. Datel sued Microsoft last year after the console maker blocked all but its own memory devices from working on the Xbox 360.
