GamerZines Game Of The Year Awards: Best DLC

We're never satisfied, but with the advent of DLC, it's easier than ever for a publisher to keep us interested in their title. What's been our favourite DLC this year?

WINNER - GTA: EPISODES FROM LIBERTY CITY

GTA IV's 'The Lost And Damned' and 'The Ballad of Gay Tony' may be two of the most expensive pieces of DLC you'll ever have to stump up the cash for, but if ever the phrase 'you get what you pay for' applied, it's here. Offering up hours upon hours of additional gameplay, both episodes supplied the perfect excuse for players to jump back into Liberty City, strap themselves into new vehicles and take on a variety of new missions for a cast of old and original characters alike.

Representing content you'd expect from a full-blown expansion pack (remember those?) rather than the low-cost, post-release guff we've come to expect from the majority of DLC, these Episodes From Liberty City are exactly the kind of additional content we'd like to see more of on the networks.

RUNNER-UP - FALLOUT 3

The appropriate launch timings, length and fair price point all add up to Fallout 3's being an example of perfect execution when it comes to handling downloadable content.

RUNNER UP - BURNOUT PARADISE: BIG SURF ISLAND

You want figures? You got it. 9 new cars, 45 new billboards, 75 new gate smashes, 15 new super jumps, 15 new events, 12 new roads to rule and 10 new Freeburn challenges. Big Surf Island may be relatively small compared with Paradise City, but it's jam-packed full of content.

And for the 1000 MSP/£9.99 price, you'd be hard-pushed to find more bang for your buck on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. Essential.
