See the new and improved Wii U Game Pad, formerly known as the tablet, Pro Controller and MiiVerse.
Nintendo got the jump on the console-making competition last night by showing previously unknown aspects of the new Wii U console in a special pre-E3 video conference.
President Satoru Iwata hosted the thirty-minute long video presentation from the seventh floor of Nintendo’s Kyoto HQ, where he focused less on games for the new console and more the hardware. The often talked about new and improved Wii U tablet was shown off publicly for the first time, newly christened the ‘Wii U Game Pad’, and a traditional looking dual-analogue Pro Controller was also revealed for the first time.
If that wasn’t enough Nintendo also shared their “connected vision” for the Wii U via a new Mii-driven network dubbed, ‘MiiVerse’. In this new social network, players will be able to swap status messages, share game content and engage with each other in ways which encourage positive interaction.
You can see all the above announcements and more in the video below.
If you think these details are exciting just wait until you see Nintendo’s E3 press conference later this week, which takes place tomorrow at 12.00pm EST (5.00pm UK).
We’ll see you there…
