Rejoice Nintendo fans! A new Zelda subtitled Skyward Sword is set to appear on the Wii next year.

Miyamoto was on hand to confirm detailed Wii MotionPlus support and took players through the controls via a live demo.

Hopefully this will be a return to form for the franchise as the previous entry Twilight Princess was met with a mixed response when it was released way back when the Wii first launched in 2006.

Skyward Sword is the sixteenth instalment in the Legend of Zelda series and looks very reminiscent of Ocarina of Time.

We'll have more for you soon.
