In a report from global sales trackers, NPD Group, Chart-Track and Enterbrain, the five biggest selling games of 2009 have been revealed.
The report, which covers sales across the three biggest video games territories in the world, focusing on the UK, US and Japan, shows that Nintendo was the brains behind four of the top five biggest selling titles in 2009.
Topping the list is Modern Warfare 2 which has sold a whopping 11.86 million unit worldwide (US: 8.82m / UK: 2.80m / J: 237.5K.)
Wii Sports Resorts, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Wii Fit Plus and Wii Fit grabbed the next five places in that order with joint sales topping 56 million.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii - 7.41 million copies sold (US: 4.23m / UK: 687.3K / J: 2.49m).
Wii Fit - 5.8 million units sold (US: 3.53m / UK: 968.3K / J: 1.30m)
Wii Fit - 5.44 million sales (US: 5.44m / UK: 1.25m / J: 588.3K).
Microsoft and Sony will be hoping to take a few more positions on that chart this year with the release of some big exclusive titles, including Halo Reach and Heavy Rain. The release of their respective motion-controllers may give them a helping hand in chasing the success enjoyed by Nintendo in 2009.
