After Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Japanese-only sound novel 428, Capcom's Monster Hunter Tri has become the Wii's third 'perfect' game according to massively popular Japanese game mag Famitsu.

Achieving a 10/10 score from each of Famitsu's four-strong team of reviewers, Monster Hunter Tri is just the twelfth game to achieve the accolade from the magazine, though it's already the fourth of this current generation of home consoles, or sixth if you count the DS.

Reports are coming in that the special Monster Hunter Tri Wii bundle, which saw the game come with a black Wii console and a black Classic Controller Pro, has completely sold out, as has the special edition version of the game itself.

Expect a number-one-with-a-bullet result for Capcom in this week's Japanese charts, which should be announced tomorrow. No official word on sales, though VGChartz estimates it shifted over half-a-million copies in its first two days, which almost certainly qualifies it for the Biggest Third-Party Game On Wii By Quite A Distance award.

As Capcom recently announced, Monster Hunter Tri will be arriving in the US and Europe in 'early 2010'. Don't expect it to be quite so big over here, but do expect critics to be impressed with its pretty stunning graphics. We've got three new pics in the media folder, so hop on over there if you want to see just how this epic release is shaping up.
