Team Meat has said is has no plans to launch Super Meat Boy on Nintendo’s WiiWare platform.
Despite being announced for Nintendo’s downloadable platform over two years ago, Team Meat has said via tweet that a WiiWare version is no longer in the works.
Instead, the developer has said it’s looking to release Super Meat Boy at retail for Nintendo Wii although in their own words "it’s looking grim".
Here’s the tweet: "ATTENTION: there will not be a Wiiware version of SMB. we are looking in to retail Wii, but its also looking grim. still looking though."
Sad news for those hoping Super Meat Boy would make it to WiiWare. We’ve got our fingers crossed Team Meat will work something out.
