Harmonix has said it is unable to patch the Wii version of Rock Band 3 which users are saying is littered with glitches and bugs.
In a forum post, Rock Band developer Shawn Green took the time to answer the questions of the game’s Wii audience who’ve been in uproar over a variety of irritating bugs.
The result however was that amidst a torrent of bugs, Harmonix is unable to patch the game due to the Wii’s online infrastructure which only online fixes for severs and not in-game content.
Shawn Green also seemed to stress that the development team was under a lot of pressure to get Rock Band 3 out the door in time for launch meaning certain issues had to be left in the retail game:
"One of the biggest challenges in game development (and particularly in Production/Management) is having to try and balance the end of your schedule with how much time you devote to chase certain issues," said Shawn.
"We know it’s far from perfect but we’re all very proud of the finished product as a whole."
Problems with buggy Wii titles have often resorted in publishers recalling games and offering replacement discs. Harmonix has not implied that this could be an alternative fix for Rock Band 3.
