SEGA Japan has admitted looking into a new peripheral to work with new collaboration Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Speaking with VideoGamer, SEGA said the development team considered making a new peripheral that "matches best" for the game:
"In the very early stage of this project, we even considered creating a new peripheral that works – that matches best for this game. We always try to look for new alternatives or possibilities."
Previous entries in the Mario & Sonic series have made use of the Wii Balance Board but ruled out using the Motion Plus technology so far.
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is out on Wii and 3DS later this year.
