New Wii launching this Holiday

Published on August 17th, 2011

Nintendo has announced a new Wii console for this holiday.

A ‘streamlined Wii console’ will launch in time for Christmas designed to sit horizontally, rather than vertically.

We’re also hearing that this new Wii will not feature GameCube backwards compatibility.

The system will come bundled with a Wii Remote Plus, Nunchuck, and copies of Wii Sports and Wii Party.

A number of other holiday bundled will be announced soon.

No pricing or release date has been set at this time.

Meanwhile, a successor to the Wii, the Wii U is et to launch worldwide in 2012.
