If a product listing on HMV’s website is to be believed, Modern Warfare 3 could be coming to Wii on the same day the game launches on other platforms.
The retailer, which put live their pre-order programme for Modern Warfare 3 this morning, currently lists Modern Warfare 3 as release on Wii on November 8th 2011, the same day the game is expected to launch on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
If true, this would be the first time a Modern Warfare game has ever launched simultaneously on Nintendo’s console.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare shipped on Wii in 2009, two years after its release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Modern Warfare 2 skipped the console. Both games were developed by Infinity Ward.
Instead, it’s only Treyarch’s Call of Duty games which have ever seen simultaneous release on Wii, including last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: World at War.
Modern Warfare 3 launches on November 8th. The game is rumoured to be a conjoined development effort between Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software.
